Now that's a rocket sled on tracks and ski's!!

How much CC displacement are in those cylinders, looks like a twin side by side.Engine looks like a water cooled dirt bike engine or I should say engine's.Like the last bike I had it was a YZ 250 249cc miss that rocket ship on 2 wheels.

All you need is a couple "Voice of the Highways" or Trailways!

If you're feeling a little horsepower deprived, turn the A-7's 180 degrees around and crank 'em up....And Tom, you ever think about trying that on your sled?

Gonna do the next best thing, trying to get back a pair of my old 816's for permanent duty in the cabin.

Thanks AB! It's a small one by today's standards, 436cc twin by Suzuki, they call a "440". It's a piston port motor so the level of performance really isn't that high, maybe 65HP, when it was 55HP stock. But i've trimmed a good 70-80 lbs off the stock weight of the machine, so the numbers add up to a fun ride that'll run around all weekend on a tank of gas.

Since you mentioned the YZ, i have to post a couple pics of my most recent build/rebuild, a 1986 Honda TRX 250R. I think some components will look familiar to you. This machine has dyno'd at 63WHP on 93 octane pump gas, rated at 38HP stock. The barrel is on it's 5th overbore step and displacing about 267cc with stock stroke crank. Weighs in at just 300lbs, if you crunch the power to weight numbers, i think you get the drift when i say it's like "riding a bomb". The cost for the thrill is a top end teardown, inspect, and minimally new iron rings and probably piston every 30 hours. Top speed is calc'd to be 89mph against the rev limiter in 6th, but because of tire expansion i'm guessing it's probably closer to 95, feels like about 180.................. get it up on the pipe and it'll give you goose bumps places you didn't know your body could make them.

Why do you see a problem Cal?

Pretty much everything has been said on the original subject...so I don't see how it should be an issue.

These forums grew out of Usenet discussion groups...it was traditional in those groups for discussions to wander off in a myriad of directions.

The whole concept was free exchange of information, so those discussions weren't discouraged.

I'd personally hate to see everything get really rigid here.
